Recently, the FF-TIP Lab took a group trip to the local cider mill, Yates! It was there where Dr. Taku demonstrated that there are no bounds to where we can develop research questions, by presenting her own step-back on the No One Dies Alone (NODA) program.

Dr. Taku identified the benefits and potential challenges that the NODA program may have. This volunteer program inspired her to evaluate tipping points to join or leave the program, and the individual differences in views on death and dying. While enjoying some cider and donuts, Dr. Taku took a “step-back” to allow the lab members to discuss potential ways to better her research design and questions. The goal of this process is to enable others to think about this project as if it is their own study, which opens up the door for alternative ways to view the research, and can produce new ideas.
We all enjoyed this opportunity to take our research out of Pryale Hall and look forward to see where Dr. Taku’s research with the NODA program takes her!
