This past week, Paxton, a second-year master’s student in the FF-TIP Lab, participated in Oakland University’s Three Minute Thesis Competition and Graduate Student Showcase. This opportunity allows all OU graduate students to present their research in an accessible manner to the general public.
Paxton took this opportunity to share his research on depenetration in friendships. He presented confidently and effectively engaged the audience with his key message:
In our interpersonal relationships there may be rough patches: however, we should be patient with individuals during those times, and for those who are pulling away from others there is room for second chances.
After all the competitors had presented their work, they answered questions from the audience and discussed how they initially became interested in their topics, joined their graduate programs, and their future research directions. We are incredibly proud of Paxton and admire his ongoing efforts to share his research with others. Congratulations, Paxton!
