Recently, in the FF-TIP lab, graduate student Samantha Hart proposed her master’s thesis topic on the potential effects of positive self-talk on artistic gymnastic performance. Within her proposal Sam sought to examine if various types of self-talk could improve gymnastic performance.
During her presentation, Sam presented various literature providing the necessary background information on both gymnastics and self-talk for her thesis. This demonstrated the current ways self-talk is being used in sports and the gaps in literature surrounding self-talk and gymnastics.
In her presentation Sam went on to cover her hypotheses in great detail, before presenting on her potential participants, variables, measures, and procedures that will be used for her study. Sam wrapped things up by going over the potential outcomes of her research in addition to her future directions.

Sam gave an excellent presentation and we look forward to seeing how her thesis develops in the future!
